LAPD arrests 2 men in downtown jewelry store holdup

Los Angeles police cordoned off an area of downtown Thursday evening as they searched for a man involved in an attempted robbery of a nearby jewelry store.

Police responded to a call of shots fired shortly after 6 p.m. in the 600 block of South Broadway, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Patrol cars swarmed the scene as officers took two suspects into custody.

No additional details were available.
