Fatal shooting of 23-year-old woman dropped off at Burbank hospital investigated

HOSP A 23-year-old woman died of a gunshot wound early Friday after she was dropped off at a Burbank hospital, police said.

Burbank police went to the emergency room at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center shortly after the woman was removed from a vehicle about 4 a.m. The woman died upon arrival at the hospital.

Burbank homicide detectives were trying to piece together the events leading up to the shooting, police said. A vehicle outside the emergency room was being examined for evidence.
