Driver leads officers on chase through San Gabriel Valley

A driver led authorities on a chase Sunday night through the San Gabriel Valley before being apprehended by the California Highway Patrol.

Officials said the pursuit began when Montebello police alerted the CHP at 9:47 p.m. that a car officers were pursuing had sped onto the northbound 110 Freeway.

CHP officers chased the silver Dodge Intrepid on the freeway, then onto surface streets in the San Gabriel Valley, officials said.

The suspect exited the freeway at Arroyo Parkway and continued toward Temple City, according to Officer Patrick Kimball.

Officers stopped the driver near the 10 Freeway about 10:22 p.m., and the suspect and four male passengers were detained, Kimball said.

There was no information about why Montebello authorities were seeking the men.
