Zsa Zsa Gabor cannot recognize husband, doctor; rushed to hospital with suspected internal bleeding

Click to share a thought or memory on her page in the Times' guide to the Walk of Fame Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was rushed to Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday morning with suspected internal bleeding, is having trouble recognizing her husband and doctor, according to her publicist.

Spokesman John Blanchette said Gabor began spitting up blood Tuesday morning after breakfast, about two weeks after having part of a leg amputated. Doctors suspect some type of internal bleeding. Over the weekend, Blanchette said Gabor was confused and could not recognize her husband and her regular doctor, who came to the house for a visit.

The condition of the Hungarian-born actress, 93, was not clear.

Gabor has been in and out of the hospital for complications from hip surgery performed after she fell at her Beverly Hills home. Doctors had been treating an infection with heavy-duty antibiotics.

The amputation was necessary because of poor circulation and a large ulcerated area on the leg.

Seems like the doctors botched up something.

"The condition of the Hungarian-born actress, 93, was not clear." Her condition seems quite clear. She's 93 years old; she had a leg amputated; she's hemorrhaging; and all the ghouls are still on death watch.

Getting old really sux!

This sounds a lot like pnumonia. It happens when people remain prone for long periods of time, but the elderly are especially susceptable to it. It was also reported that she had cognitive problems before she went home from this last surgury. As for the unknown condition . . . she's 93 years old for God's sake! Her condition is: She's old, sick and in pain. What's so unknown about that!

"The amputation was necessary because of poor circulation and a large ulcerated area on the leg."

Oh, the amputation that isn't mentioned anywhere in the story, and miraculously appeared out of nowhere? I hate those pesky amputations!

I think it's humane to let her pass at this juncture..and not recognizing that dreadful husband has to be a bit of a plus for her..

Hang in there honey,...

Which husband? If I'd had 9 of them, I would be confused, too.

Dahling, it's time to go....

poor dear, if she were a dog, she would be puting her down for her own good,I guess its how long you want to hang on, what ever i'm 74 , and feel pretty good and still love life ,and maybe theres people that still want to go on and on and on ,for what ever reasons, sick, or a veggie, maybe money, maybe love, who knows .that want her to stick around,of course she does not know them ,but sometimes maybe thats a blessing

Well, she is 93. She's had an amazing life. I guess the only other good part in this is that she probably doesn't realize her leg was taken, either. This is no life. I hope she's peaceful soon.

Sad to hear...

I think that she just may make the Academy Awards deadline and be included amongst those who have passed in the previous year.

Sad to hear this, but she is up there in age...Hope it turns out fine for her or at least she goes in peace...

Poor thing. She's 93 years old, and like most people that age - and remember, most people die before 93! - she's at the end of her life span. Hope she goes peacefully.

It's okay to let go Zsa Zsa. I've heard somewhere that when we depart this life form we reappear as a younger self.

too bad they didn't contact hospice for her care. No reason for this woman to go through all that she has gone through.

Hey, Bobbito - Try reading the article.

"...about two weeks after having part of a leg amputated."

She probably just doesn't want to admit that she married that freak so she's pretending to not recognize him. Can't blame her for that.

Prince Freddie has the bimbos on speed dial. His "vife" will no longer cramp his style.

Bless her heart. Zsa Zsa Gabor has epitomized glamour for many years. Her cult classic "Queen Of Outer Space" is out of this world fun.

Why is her daughter never mentioned? Don't like or trust the husband, seems like a money gruber....

How sad. I wonder if she still recognizes the cop she slapped?

It sounds like it's time to let her go...
