Southern California weather turns wilder, with snow and possible tornado
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning just after 6 p.m. Saturday for east central Santa Barbara County and west central Ventura County. “There’s an active storm cell,” said weather specialist Bonnie Bartling.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol said snow had begun sticking to the 5 Freeway at the Grapevine just before 6 p.m. Saturday, and the agency was prepared to close down portions of the freeway there if snow continued to pile up.
