Video: Man arrested in horse cruelty case in Riverside County

Officials in Riverside County released a video Tuesday evening in a case involving a man who was arrested on felony animal cruelty charges after his horse was euthanized. Officials warned that the video might be difficult for some viewers to watch.

Officers responding to the Mira Loma home of Francisco Javier Ponce, 40, also recovered more than 100 illegal cockfighting roosters on the property, according to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.

Officials said they were forced to put down the horse because it had severe injuries to its tendons, according to the department.
