DARTH AND DOG: "Dark lords of the universe get lonely, too," says Sahra Sulaiman of this scene on Hollywood Boulevard.

As we review the hundreds of images submitted for Southern California Moments, a few photographers inevitably stand out. The first in a series of profiles, Sahra Sulaiman, is a Los Angeles-based photographer who first caught our attention because of an apparent penchant for images of abandoned stuffed animals. Instead, we realized her talent for spotting quirky and unique moments in the city that many would overlook. Read more about Suleiman on Framework.

Every day of 2011, we're featuring reader-submitted photos of Southern California Moments. Follow us on Twitter and visit the Southern California Moments homepage for more on this series.

[Update, March 3, 2011: A previous version of this post spelled the photographer's name as Sahra Suleiman.]
