Actress Lindsay Lohan, facing a felony grand theft charge for allegedly stealing a necklace from a Venice jewelry store, posted a message Thursday on her Twitter page saying she never steals.

The post comes a day after Lohan pleaded not guilty to the felony theft charge and was released on $40,000 bail. Her next court appearance is Feb. 23.

On Thursday afternoon, in a message that started by commenting on a character in a movie watching one of her movies, Lohan seem to address the case.

“…i just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work! fyi- i would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal.”

She then criticized media coverage of the tight, short white dress she wore to court Wednesday: “also, what i wear to court shouldn’t be front page news. it's just absurd. god bless xox L.”

Lohan is accused of taking a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Co. The Jan. 22 incident was captured on store surveillance video. She was already on misdemeanor probation for driving under the influence. That case has seen her jailed briefly three times.

Lohan recently underwent 90 days in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage. Riverside prosecutors are reviewing allegations that she battered a Betty Ford technician last December during an altercation. Lohan has denied the allegation.

Drug addicts steal. That what they do.

Why should we care about this pathetic person? Is this a game to see how much she can get away with?

i guess she's now part of the BLING RING

Wow! She twitters.

What a joke...shes already stolen jewelry from a fashion shoot and a mink coat from a nightclub..... shes a train wreck but Hollywood stands behind her.... go figure....lots of talented actresses out there waiting for a big break but Hollywood keeps giving parts to Lindsey... They dont know a real loser when they see one...

She is a beauty and an incredible talent. People that aren't artists just can't understand why it is hard to follow society's rules. People couldn't understand how Cobain or Ledger weren't able to keep it together. It is no different for Lohan. Hopefully she won't end up like them. Artists do more for humanity than any other professional class. We need Lindsey to get it together and get back to work!

I'll carjack someone's car and force them to chase someone down and make them fear for their life, I'll coke up and drive into a telephone pole, I'll get drunk and stagger down the road countless times, I'll pass out in my car with drugs on my face and in my lap, I'll sleep with anybody that smiles at me, I'll stalk my ex-girlfriend, I'll lie about my behavior until I fail a drug test, and I'll assault a minimum-wage rehab worker whose job it is to care for me when she catches me sneaking back in after partying.

But I would never steal. My parents didn't raise me that way.

"I was not raised to lie, cheat or steal"?

Are Lindsay's fans really stupid enough to believe that? The rest of us certainly aren't.

Oh, Lindsay.
