Store video, paparazzi photos to be cited in Lindsay Lohan necklace-theft case, sources say
Store video and paparazzi photos are among the evidence authorities have collected as prosecutors plan to charge Lindsay Lohan with stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store, sources have told The Times.
The law enforcement sources said police have a video from the store showing Lohan wearing the necklace. Authorities also have collected paparazzi photos taken at a later date showing Lohan wearing the necklace in public, said the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case is ongoing.
Police supplied statements from witnesses at the jewelry store, the sources added.
Prosecutors said they plan to file felony grand-theft charge against the actress. She will be arraigned Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Airport Courthouse.
Lohan is on probation and faces a criminal investigation in Riverside County involving allegations that she shoved a worker at the Betty Ford Center. She did not immediately comment on the latest charge, but her attorney has released a statement saying the actress would fight any criminal charges.
Last week, Los Angeles Police Department detectives presented the results of their investigation into the alleged theft to prosecutors. Detectives investigated whether Lohan stole a "one-of-a-kind" necklace that went missing last month from a Venice jewelry store not far from where she lives.
The piece, described as a gold necklace with semiprecious stones, disappeared Jan. 22 from the store in the 1300 block of Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and police began investigating a few days later. According to law-enforcement sources, Lohan was seen in a store security video wearing the necklace before it was reported missing.
After detectives began looking into the case and preparing a search warrant, a Lohan associate took the necklace to the Pacific Division police station, sources said.
In the Riverside County case, Lohan is accused of assaulting an employee at the Betty Ford Center.
Lohan spent three months at the rehab center in Rancho Mirage under orders from Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox, who spared the actress jail time in October after Lohan tested positive for drugs while on probation in a DUI case.
The judge directed her to stay at the center through January and warned that he would put her in jail for six months if she violated probation again. It was her fifth time in rehab, and she has been to jail three times in connection with the case.
The employee accused Lohan of shoving her but then told investigators she did not want to press charges.

The sooner that Lindsay Lohan is off the stretet and behind bars our national nightmare will finally be over and we can go on with our daily lives.

I have a pretty good idea they told her to wear it and then conviently forgot that point.. if she had it on in the store, a clerk had to give it to her.. you dont just leave a 2500 necklace lying around.
They are getting a ***LOT*** of free publicity.. and dont even have to pay a lawyer to sue her.
No i am not supporting her.. but tired of this she is quilty *stuff*

FalseFlag USA,
There is a cure for P.D.S., but you've got to first come out of denial, & accept that you suffer from this problem.

Lindsay's goose is cooked. Why, because she has the probation violation hanging over her head. In PV's as we call them, there is no "innocent beyond a reasonable doubt". No right to jury trial.
Bring the necklaceto thepolice? Not unless you got a receipt.
Had Lindsay called me, I would have advised her:
" Ms. Lohan, as an officer of the court I cannot advise you to FLUSH THE NECKLACE DOWN THE TOILET!!". Advising you to FLUSH THE NECKLACE DOWN THE TOILET would violate my obligation to preserve the evidence and as such I will not, and cannot, advise you to FLUSH THE NECKLACE DOWN THE TOILET!"
Has the jury reached a verdict?
"Not guilty your honor" not the same necklace.

When the Channel 4 News promoted its "We Are LA" ad, I got sadly ticked off by a paparazzo, who mentioned his occupation with the words, "I will hunt you down." Is this the way to tell the truth by glorifying gossip as it sees fit in the format? This may be a 1st Amendment right to those camera thugs, but they can cause a lot of mayhem everywhere in celebrities' privacy.

This continuing saga is mystifying. All of the symptoms indicate a "Bi-Polar Disorder". Why do they keep trying to treat her for addiction when she seems to need to get her brain chemistry under control???

Total yawn here. At least she's being arraigned at the Airport Courthouse so maybe the media will not be blocking our prking garage, like they did the last time Lindsay was in Beverly Hills.

That's a $2,500 necklace with "valuable gems?" The jewelry store had best be careful or they might be find themselves facing charges of attempted theft.

I am wondering how in the hell this piece of crap could have cost 2500 dollars lets see who the real thief is here, maybe this is why they are closed.I am wondering how much Linsey has spent in this store in the past few years.Somebody bitchy got in her face and she stormed out can you can say entrapment.Somebody better watch their ass because there is a counter suit coming that will be thousand's times the value of that piece of crap and I will say it again that piece of crap necklace.I do believe they will stay closed until they figure out what idiots they have been and come to a settlement that will let them keep their store.

She should spend her time in jail writing her life story. Poor dumb wanna be actress alcoholic, drug addict, and petty crook. Who finally has to pay for all her stupid actions . And the justices system can receive the proceeds to pay back all the money Ca. spent holding her hand instead of kicking her in the butt

Lindsay Lohan is an adult now. She needs to stop blaming everyone and everything else for her problems. No one forces her to break the law, break her probation and steal jewelry. Yes, her parents were probably not good role models and may have pushed her into being a child star. However when do we stop making excuses for her and start making her take responsibility for her actions. No one should be above the law no matter what their excuses are. Let her actually serve the PRISON time, she has had more than enough chances to make things work and has blown them all.
