Magnitude 2.5 earthquake recorded in Laguna Hills

A magnitude 2.5 earthquake was reported Monday morning in southern Orange County.

The temblor occurred at 3:16 a.m. about a mile east of Laguna Hills, nine miles south of Irvine and 46 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

There were no reports of damage. It came several hours after a 4.5 temblor occurred near Mexicali.
