Wind warning issued for L.A. area; warm weekend on tap
The National Weather Service issued a high-wind warning for parts of Southern California as temperatures were expected to reach the mid-80s Friday and Saturday.
The warming trend comes after weeks of rain and cold temperatures. The highs Friday are expected to be in the low to mid-80s in the L.A. basin, forecasters said. Similar conditions are expected Saturday, and it will be slightly cooler Sunday.
Lows will be in the 40s and 50s.
The wind advisory calls for gusts up to 45 mph in some local canyons, but the basin will see gusts of up to 35 mph.
Most of the wind advisory expires by noon Saturday.

Listen up Southern California get on your shorts and thongs and head for the party. I am stuck in NJ until April after moving to Cali in late '76. NJ has a lot of things not to like about it but one of the most notable - esp this year - is this snowy, freezing weather. And no, the women don't make up for it, most of them are cold year round. As they said in "Wayne's World - party on dude".
