Surf cams and beach gear coming to John Wayne Airport

John Wayne Airport will install surf cams in one of its terminals, along with beach gear and a resort-themed store as part of a makeover of the terminals at the county airport.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved a lease with Paradies, which will operate Beachfront News in Terminal C. The resort-themed store will feature six surf cams that give passengers a peek at local beaches.

Paradies will also operate the O.C. TravelMart in Terminal C, which will feature Irvine-based Diedrich Coffee. In Terminal A’s Hudson News store, there will be a Discover Orange County section, featuring information on local attractions such as Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Bowers Museum and the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum in Yorba Linda.

Hudson is also featuring a new concept store in partnership with Sunglass Hut and Rip Curl giving passengers a chance to adjust their wardrobes with the necessary O.C. beachwear.
