Disabled woman sexually assaulted on video 'very traumatized,' lives in 'extreme fear,' detectives say

The disabled woman seen on a videotape being sexually assaulted is "very traumatized" over the incident and lives in "extreme fear" that her alleged assailants will strike again, according to detectives with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

Officials released details of an interview detectives had with the woman. Authorities did not release her name or the facility where the attack occurred, saying the woman wants her privacy.

"Her medical conditions have caused her to be physically defenseless; however, she was able to communicate with detectives," officials said in a statement. "Her interview Monday with sheriff's Special Victims Bureau detectives was very emotional and painful for her. Detectives described her as very traumatized. She is being provided with victim assistance."

Ernie Lloyd, 37, of Los Angeles, was arrested Saturday after he turned himself in to Los Angeles police in Hollywood in connection with the assault of an unidentified 25-year-old. The graphic video shows men having sex with women, many of whom appear to be disabled, with some in wheelchairs and wearing diapers.

But prosecutors said the tapes alone are not sufficient evidence, telling Sheriff's Department detectives that they need to provide more facts about the women's medical histories, level of disabilities and other information.

"In order to effect a filing, we would either have to prove that the victim did not consent to the sexual acts or she was unable to consent to the sexual acts," the district attorney's office wrote in a memo. "There is insufficient evidence to prove either of these theories beyond a reasonable doubt."

The Sheriff's Department did not directly comment on the district attorney's decision. But in a statement issued after prosecutors had turned back the case, sheriff's officials said they had gathered large amounts of evidence including an intensive interview with an alleged victim, who told them she was sexually assaulted at a residential care facility in Los Angeles.

The department said the woman specifically named Lloyd and a second suspect, Bert Hicks, as being among those who assaulted her, according to the statement. Hicks is already serving a state prison sentence.

why are there so many messed up people out there?? sterilize them please so they cannot keep infecting the gene pool. and in this case, sterilizing is a VERY appropriate punishment.

If you break the law, you lose your rights. It should be as simple as that with crimes like these.

DEUTERONOMY 22;25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.

At least we know those jerks can say they were sleep walking.
But they will probably claim insanity or something like that.
That's so disturbing. Very sick. Truly horrible.

I was wondering where are the suppose to be caregivers that are watching
this patients????? Is there anyone home or at least make a round in each
room to see if every thing is in order??//???WHERE ARE THEY?????

Are you kidding me? This poor woman lives in fear of this nasty pig and the Sheriff's Dept. doesn't have sufficient info to prosecute??

That's really rough, hope he learns someday to consider that he has a mom and female relatives.

I hope his other eye goes cross as well !!!!!

how about puting another lawer to work as prosecutor and fire the current one. maybe un employment will correct the young prosecuters work ethics .

My God.

Sickos!

Yet another example of how straight people are sick and should not be allowed the same rights as gays. Every day there are stories of straight people comitting acts against god's will and testament! When will we wake up? Oops, wrong story....

The people of CA voted for the Death Penalty to be used here. After their day in court...the Courts need to start using the tools the people of CA gave them. One appeal and their out! Find a good Vein! Period.

alexander, under Sharia, the woman would have to prove she was raped and have a number of male witnesses to corroborate. Are you sure that's what you want?

There has got to be some kind of crime of neglect or ommision commeitted by the care givers, and how about a lawsuit against the facitily that was lax enough to let this happen in the first place? This is so, so horrible.

How do you think these rapists will fare in prison? Not a pretty thought. I think the death penalty would be a God-send.

How nasty taking or crossing the line of limits. What type of people do they should go to jail for life untill death!
Sick pigs how disgusting!!

let me get this straight, if a person is unable to move it is not a crime to milest them because they may have wanted it? What about kids? These pigs must die! They should gt the dealth penalty, there are some things that cant have a sentence to fix, they need never to go back to society, aint no place for this filth.

If you can't prosecute this as a crime, then WHAT is a crime? Are we so into protecting the criminals that even our most vulnerable citizens go unprotected? This is just plain SICK. If this is what too much sexual freedom leads to, then it's time for the pendulum to swing back to the opposite direction and tighten up on what our society will and will not allow. That's why we have to have so many laws, because of sick farts like this.

We are a lost sociey

It is IRRESPONSIBLE of the prosecution not to hold these individuals criminally responsible for assaulting these disabled women!!! Let the courts or jury of their peers determine their GUILT!!! Not the prosecutors who are determined not to try these cases!!!

The Photo of this scumbag..........Is he C-R-E-E-P-Y Looking, or what??

the guy turned himself in. The woman is scared to death. What next? With that kind of statement up front out in the open, it only encourages those guys to use exactly that excuse. It's like they are handing the perpetrators a script, and the victims have to defend themselves.

Sad. The DA's can't tell joyfull lovemaking from agonizing sex.

Wow...............

Are they saying the rest of the lawmakers might be like them and therefore they may not be able to get their case prosecuted?

Leave it to the professionals? Really?

When you find one handling this case I will give it due consideration.
