Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in eight L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by The Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Four neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. South Park (A) was the most unusual, recording 16 reports compared with a weekly average of 7.5 over the past three months.

Northridge (E) topped the list of four neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 58 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 38.5 over the past three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Dec. 22–Dec. 28, the most recent seven days where data are available.
