Body found in high school parking lot in Costa Mesa

The body of a man in his 30s was found about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, authorities said.

Lt. Rob Sharpnack, a Costa Mesa Police Department watch commander, said a woman reported finding the body.

Sharpnack said the body appeared to have been brought to the parking lot from another location.

He would not say if the man had suffered a violent death, but added, "Nothing happened at the scene."

Sharpnack said the man is not associated with the high school, which is on Placentia Avenue.

"We are still investigating," he said.

Hey! That's my body. I want it back!

Lends a whole new meaning to "student body".

Most likely it's a drug overdose and the victim's "friends" panicked and left his body at the high school.
