Actor Charlie Sheen hospitalized, publicist says

January 27, 2011 |  1:02 pm

"Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with severe abdominal pains, his publicist said.

Few details were available but according to the celebrity-news website TMZ, which first reported the news, neighbors said he had thrown a party the night before.

Los Angeles Fire Dept. Capt. Jaime Moore would only confirm that they were called to a home in a gated community in the 1400 block of W. Aubrey Road after 6:30 a.m. and transported an unidentified patient to a local hospital.

Cedars-Sinai, citing patient-confidentiality rules, declined to confirm that Sheen was a patient there.

CBS also declined comment.
