Cal State Northridge professor charged with allegedly urinating on colleague's office door
A Cal State Northridge math professor has been charged with urinating on a colleague's office door during a dispute between the two men.
Tihomir Petrov, 43, is facing two misdemeanor counts of urinating in a public place, according to a copy of a complaint filed in Superior Court.
Petrov is expected to be arraigned Thursday in San Fernando, authorities said. The case stems from a dispute that Petrov allegedly had with another professor in the school's math department, authorities said.
Petrov was allegedly captured in early December on videotape urinating on the door of another professor's office in Santa Susana Hall, according to authorities. School officials had concealed a camera nearby after discovering puddles of what they thought was urine at the professor's door.

Golden showers in the ivory tower of academia.

That's gross. You would think a professor would be a little more mature than that.

He must have been really pissed off.

checked his rate my professor and he was getting pretty good reviews up until the middle of last year, then absolute horrible reviews, some of the worst I've seen there...wonder what went down in this dudes life.

Looks like the two professors got into a pissing contest!

If he did it once he would have gotten away with it. I guess the math professor didn't understand the odds of getting caught.

There is something screwy going on in that math department. I remember as a student there years ago a male professor preying on the women in his class and there being a dispute between the professors and their wives.

And these are the tenured adults teaching our children and getting paid well to do it without fear of being dismissed.

Freedom of sPEEch.
Considering how many school issues are resolved with guns, this is at least a non-violent response.

I've done that many times. No big deal!

Talk about being pissed off.

Can someone explain to me why the word 'allegedly' appears in the headline?
He's been charged with urinating. It's nonsensical to say he was charged with 'allegedly' doing something. Obviously the charge is an allegation.
Oh never mind... expecting way too much.

What's up with all this violence at Cal State Northridge. A professor peeing on another professor door, talk about childish. They should sentence him to cleaning up dirty bathrooms for 6 months.

Great example for the immature freshmen.

Well, duh! They caught him because he did it at least TWICE!
One would expect that a professor with a PhD in math is smart enough not to return to the stream of the crime.

I know how this story got out. It was leaked.

This is what we pay for? Fire bad professors and administrators from the California public school system.
Posted by: Heather | January 26, 2011 at 09:38 PM
The prof was just doing his research project on urine. There is nothing wrong with that.

I remember years back at Cal State(then it was Valley State College) having a prof in the Poli Sci dept. who was an obvious alcoholic. Didn't even conceal it.
But his problem(as with this prof)is certainly more the exception than the rule there.
