3.6 earthquake reported off Santa Barbara

January 11, 2011 |  7:16 am

A 3.6 earthquake was recorded overnight in the Pacific off Santa Barbara.

The temblor struck at 2:09 a.m. near San Miguel Island, which is about 61 miles from Santa Barbara and about 120 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Because the quake was off the Channel Islands in the Pacific Ocean, it's unclear if the temblor was felt on land.
