Snowboarder dies after crashing into trees at Mountain High ski resort

A 24-year-old Fullerton man died Monday night after crashing into trees while snowboarding in Wrightwood, authorities said.

The accident occurred about 6 p.m. at Mountain High ski resort, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.

Paramedics transported the man to Community Hospital of San Bernardino, where he died shortly after  7 p.m. in the emergency room, according to Donald Johnson, deputy coroner.

The victim's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification, Johnson said. Details on the cause of death have not yet been released.
