Search continues for missing snowboarder at Tahoe area ski resort
Placer County officials were searching Wednesday for a 25-year-old snowboarder reported missing the previous afternoon at Alpine Meadows ski resort.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Dena Erwin said the boyfriend of Shawnte Marie Willis of Tahoma, Calif., reported her missing around 4 p.m.
A ski resort spokeswoman told the Sacramento Bee she was last seen by friends snowboarding through ski boundary signs near the top of an advanced slope earlier in the afternoon when she apparently became separated from them.
Erwin said searchers remained on the mountain Wednesday but were hampered by blizzard conditions.
