San Diego Chargers not involved in brawl that sent man to hospital

No members of the San Diego Chargers were involved in the late-night brawl that sent a 21-year-old man to the hospital with severe head injuries, the San Diego Police Department said.

Although there were Chargers players at the Bar West in Pacific Beach at about the time the brawl took place, none were involved, police said. The only team member mentioned was wide receiver Legedu Naanee.

But after interviews with witnesses, police determined that neither Naanee nor his teammates were involved. The brawl occurred about 2 a.m. Monday, leaving a man unconscious. Rushed to the hospital, he is recovering.

Investigation is continuing with examination of surveillance tape and additional interviews with possible witnesses.
