Officials shut down stretch of Pacific Coast Highway north of Malibu

As heavy rains moved into the area, a portion of Pacific Coast Highway north of Malibu was shut down in both directions early Wednesday.

The stretch of scenic highway between Deer Creek in Malibu and Las Posas Road in Ventura County was shut down shortly after 5 a.m. and will remain closed until further notice, California Highway Patrol officials said. There were no reports of mudslides.

The roadway was also closed on Monday so crews could remove rocks, mud and other debris from recent storms.
