New series of earthquakes hits California border region, including a 4.2 magnitude temblor

Another series of small earthquakes occurred on the California border over the last 12 hours, the largest of which measured 4.2 magnitude.

That quake occurred around 11 p.m. Friday near the Imperial County town of Ocotillo. It was followed by several quakes in the 3-magnitude range and some smaller temblors.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

There have been thousands of small quakes in this area since the 7.2 Easter Sunday temblor that stuck Mexicali. That quake caused about $100 million in damage in California alone. The quakes that have followed are believed to be aftershocks.

QUAKES? Hopefully it makes for a nice DEEP CANYON border!!!

Day after day, more people come to LA

Don't you tell anyone that the whole place shakin away

This is no surprise. It's very common to have literally thousands of aftershocks after an earthquake of that magnitude.

Hopefully it makes for a nice DEEP CANYON border?? And you call yourself an American!?!?!?!? I feel embarrassed to share the same country with you. We are a nation of immigrants and everyday we lose thousands of farm jobs because fat, lazy Americans like you cant do the work. Hopefully these quakes make the south break away from America and then they can have their own racist country all to themselves.

WASN'T AN EARTHQUAKE, IT WAS MORE ILLEGALS RUNNING FOR THE CALIFORNIA BORDER...

@embarrassed - you are right, we ARE a nation of immigrants. Millions of people enter our country LEGALLY every year. What does that have to do with defending our borders from ILLEGAL immigrants?????

Get this straight - If you are here ILLEGALLY you have NO RIGHTS in this country!

Back to topic - I'll take an earthquake over a tornado or hurricane any day of the week. In 30 seconds it's over and you know whether your okay. No hiding in a basement praying for hours........

@embarrassed: They already do have a racist country, have you ever heard of the attrocities commited against those entering their southern border?

Love the idea of a DEEP canyon border :-)

DEEP canyon border :-)

Another vote for a DEEP canyon border :-)

I dont know why the news is making such a big deal out of these quakes! It was bound to happen after a major quake happened in around that area! It's not un-common!

"Boy is Plate Tectonics a stupid theory."
Southern California's Mountains including the Rockies were forced up by "Subduction" of the Pacific Ocean "Plate" going under the North American continent, and the Ocean Ridge System on land in California located at the same location [?] creates the opposite of "Subduction" and is in that stupid Plate Tectonic theory treated as "the opening of a New Ocean."

"Les see what else is wrong with the Plate Tectonics theory."

Dah,,,, South America , the whole Continent is moving in the wrong direction- "hello- this has been proven by the latest Technology"- GPS.

"We as a learned people must get back to basics and not give entire sciences to these "over educated people."
That goes for "Exit Poles", Continental Drift , Plate Tectoonics, oil exploration safety, Job creation, listening to "BErnacke's life in a depression."

We must put congress , the senate, and the executive branch in charge of stickers for the back of cars-like "If my dog does'nt like you I wo'nt either."

"If they don not allow cursing in heven I wo'nt stay."
"When
I die I want to go
where dogs go."

I think we are being warned of an imminent earthquke that will top any natural disaster in mordern history. The San Andreas is primed for a repeat of the January 9, 1857 quake. When that 225 mile section rupters, be ready for no power, water, fuel and supplies to reach southern California for many days. Keep an eye out for a M6.0+ north of Parkield as there was a foreshock in that area nine hours prior to the 1857. If you have been watching the latest CA/NV latest quakes this year, then you will see the pattern of quakes forming.

Good Luck..
