Marine from Camp Pendleton killed in combat in Afghanistan

A Marine from Camp Pendleton has been killed in combat in the Taliban stronghold of Helmand province in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced Thursday.

Cpl. Chad S. Wade, 22, of Bentonville, Ark., was killed Wednesday. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton.

Wade, a rifleman, was on his third combat deployment.
