RIP brave warrior. the 3/5 Marines are fighting the hard fight in Sangin and will be remembered as much as the 3/5 Marines who took Fallujah.

RIP Brother....your efforts will not be forgotten

All you Marines and Military Personnel are in our Hearts and are appreciated for all your courage and honor to our Country. RIP Jose Maldonado! Que Dios te de Vida en el Cielo!
These young men and woman are our REAL HEROES!!!

I'm so sorry for the lost of this brave marine. I thank him for his service to our country and my prayers are with the family.

God Bless you Marine...

God Bless you guys - and God keep Jose. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

As a Canadian police officer I offer my sincere condolences to this brave Marine and his family. RIP Marine your tour of duty is completed - may God bless you and your family.

I am sitting here in tears reading this story. What a brave warrior. My son has served 1yr, so far, in Iraq. But I am waiting for that 'notice' he will be going to Afgan. It is so sad this young Marine. My heart goes out to his family.

Tell 'em we're going deep and I don't mean at the meadow lands

My heart is breaking for this young man and his poor family. My former roommate was friends with Jose. I had only met him briefly and he seemed to be very sweet, happy and enjoying the company of my former roommate. He was a very handsome young man too. I am so sorry for the familys loss and I pray that God will be with them, and bring some peace to their hearts. My family and I are so proud of Jose and every single one of you out there who truly fight for us. I pray for Jose's family....peace, love and strength!<3

Sincerely,

For over 235 years the Marine Corps, and in particular 3/5 has had a distinguished History in their combat service for this Nation. It is sad that once again the heavy casualty rate of this Battalion has claimed another Young Marine from Texas. Rest in peace Marine, there is a squad of Marines that await you at heavens gate. Semper Fi

We spoke to our son two nights ago. He said that he lost a good friend and Marine. He was deeply saddened by his loss. Our hearts go out to Jose's family and friends. May God be with him and all the 3/5. Semper Fi
