Man hit by train at Hollywood subway station
A man suffered severe injuries Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a train at the Metro Red Line station in Hollywood.
He was hit by the subway train about 3 p.m. at the station on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was taken to a hospital. Investigators were trying to determine why he was on the tracks, Humphrey said.

Well, this must be some kind of record for Amtrak. Trains 5, humans 0. Stay away from trains people!

I just got off the Red Line train heading toward Hollywood/Western from downtown Los Angeles. Metro officials kept us waiting for over an hour without telling us the subway would be delayed. Numerous riders had to call the emergency line to find out about the delay. Finally after that, someone notified us, in English, over the intercom system about the accident. Spanish-speaking riders seemed to not know what was being announced. Accidents happen. But Metro needs to inform riders.
