Firefighters rescue victims trapped in flooded Palmdale street

Three people trapped in their vehicles were rescued Wednesday night from a flooded area in Palmdale.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews pulled the people to safety near 50th Street East and East Avenue H, officials said.

Firefighters had requested a bulldozer team as a precaution to help navigate the flooded and muddy streets. A Fire Department helicopter was flying over the zone to see if other people were trapped in the area, which had been saturated by downpours earlier in the day.

Officials said ambulance crews would evaluate  the victims near the scene.
