Fire breaks out at Echo Park elementary school

A fire late Tuesday burned part of Logan Street Elementary School in Echo Park, said Brian Humphrey, with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

More than 40 firefighters responded about 10:20 p.m. to the school, in the 1700 block of Montana Street. The fire was on the second floor, and was under control in about 40 minutes. Information about the cause or extent of damage was not immediately available.
