Marina del Rey rattled by 2.1 earthquake

A small earthquake struck the Marina del Rey area Thursday morning.

The magnitude 2.1 temblor was centered two miles south of Marina del Rey and three miles north of El Segundo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. (It was about 14 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles.)

No injuries or damage were reported. A USGS map shows the quake struck offshore in the Santa Monica Bay.
