Crime alerts for Eagle Rock, Pacoima and nine other L.A. city neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 11 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Three neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Eagle Rock (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports, compared with a weekly average of 1.1 over the last three months.

Pacoima (D) topped the list of 10 neighborhoods with property-crime alerts. It recorded 39 property crimes, compared with its weekly average of 23 over the last three months.

Two neighborhoods triggered alerts for both violent crime and property crime.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Dec. 16–22, the most recent seven days where data are available.

What about Echo Park? 2 shootings in two weeks...

Just look at the population change and you will see why. I live in a small, neighboring community however, it is well known for its alert residents, dogs and gun owners. When a gangster type comes up our street we give them the evil eye. We also get involved. We are not going to become the next Pacoima

Maybe if the cops weren't so busy raiding pot shops they could be doing their job and making it a safer area.

In Sylmar on the 13600 block of foothill...

Last week I went to dinner with my girlfriend and when I went to my car, there were 2 people (small dude and tall chick) peeking inside of my car and her hands were together like as if she was gonna break my window.

Needless to say when I approached them they walked away real quick.

DAMN I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP!!! Literally, a split second longer and I would have gotten into an altercation with 2 people who would have just broken my window and either way, 1 of of them would have gotten beat up!

It was in the Shakeys/Foot Locker parking lot.

Law enforcement can't be everywhere. Neighborhood watch groups, good neighbors looking out for others help law enforcement make communities SAFE. My two cents - best place to dispense pot is at pharmacies not these so-called dispensaries.
