Anaheim strip-club manager shot in robbery

A manager at a strip club in Anaheim was shot early Wednesday during a robbery, authorities said.

Witness said two men walked into the California Girls club in the 800 block of South Brookhurst Street about 2:30 a.m. and shot the manager once in the stomach, stealing an unknown amount of cash before fleeing, said Sgt. Chuck Knight of the Anaheim Police Department.

The manager, whose name was not released, was in stable condition at UC Irvine Medical Center.

Anaheim police were looking for the two suspects and said they believed the incident was “a straight-up robbery,” Knight said.

California Girls is described on its website as an “upscale topless cabaret,” about two miles from Disneyland.
