3.6 earthquake hits Castaic area

A 3.6 earthquake was reported in the Castaic area overnight, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

The quake occurred about 40 miles north of downtown L.A., 11 miles north of Valencia, and four miles west of the Castaic Lake Dam.

It hit at 12:36 a.m.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was felt in the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County and the Santa Clarita Valley.
