The FBI and Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday continued to investigate who sent a white powdery substance to the set of "Dancing With the Stars," causing the studio to be evacauted Friday.

ABC released a statement saying the substance turned out to be harmless.

"An envelope containing an unknown substance was delivered to the 'Dancing With the Stars' production office on Friday evening," the statement read. "Security and the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department were immediately notified.  Measures were taken to secure the area and ensure the safety of personnel.  Ultimately we were advised by the LAFD that the substance was determined to be talcum powder."

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the envelope was opened by mail room staff and also contained a threatening letter. She would not comment as to whom the letter was addressed.

Hazardous-materials officials with the city of Los Angeles, Los Angeles police, firefighters and the FBI responded to the studios at 4:50 p.m., according to Los Angeles police spokesman Bruce Borihanh.

Maybe the letter writer was suggesting Bristol "take a powder"?
Bristol should do a humorous bit before her next dance where she brushes off some white powder from her dress...

Pathetic.

Flea powder would have been more appropriate.

I bet Pelosi sent the letter. She is not taking her removal from the queens seat very well.

I don't know anyone who watches this show. Looks stupid.

Stars? Half the people on the show are not stars? Huh?

This is what happens when you try and inject politics into entertainment, especially the daughter of a polarizing figure like Farrah Palin.

A kind act to help Bristols fat thighs from chaffing.

Is not Farrah, it is Sarah.
On another subjec: I am very disappointed the program can go where ever they want to. Not very democratic.
I will not watch this ever again, and i ask people to do the same, hope others get the message. thanks, jc

FINALLY A STAR WITHOUT DANCE EXPERIENCE MAKES IT TO THE FINALS AND SOME PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING. WELL SO AM I ,IM TRIED OF SEEING A VIDEO STAR DANCE A ROUTINE , TRY TEACHING A NON DANCER A ROUTINE. I DONT LIKE BRANDY I WANT WANT (KYLE) TO WIN. GO KYLE, AND GOOD JOB BRISTOL. LETS TALLY THE VOTES, IM GOING TO MAX OUT MY PHONE CALLS...

Ha ha, oldtimer. I was thinking the same thing.

Just another day at the office for one more crazy tea bag...

I don't understand why Bristol's picture is attached to all stories I've seen about this powder. Is this just another way to get her more publicity? Looks like she dosn't need any more.

Right on with the chapping thighs. LOL

I for one am going to vote as many times as I can for Bristol. I am going to tell my friends to do the same.

I want to watch all of the libs commit suicide when she wins.

My advice to the Palins is simple: Birth Control!

Just cancel the show or find something worth writing about.

I don't care for any of the Palins...but there is no excuse for this...none whatsoever. It's only a TV dance contest. It doesn't matter whether anyone on the outside is doing anything to skewer the results or not. No one deserves to be threatened. This is a crime and it is just plain wrong. I don't care what your politics are. I hope they catch whoever did this and give him or her some serious prison time.

If you don't like the show, don't watch it. I don't.

That's right! If the Palins were liberals, the advice would be, uh...what? Oh, yeah! Abortion!

Love the "take a powder" remark, well done. I've not watched this show, there's not much in American TV entertainment that is of any interest, unless you're half wasted on crack or meth or whatever, then I guess it looks like fun TV. I just wonder how long before Bristol's new baby bump shows...after all, she's been around all these camera guys and set workers for a number of weeks now, I can't imagine she's gone all celibate on us now...

Who's running for president Bristol or Sarah?

What's next? Octomom on DWTS?

MICHAEL RYSTON , yeah, the republicans have lots of practice rigging votes in elections too. Wait until there is Internet voting you'll have all repugs in the WH. No decency or honesty at all. Do whatever to win is the repug motto. Why do repugs hate America?

To uncle vito, I like ball-room dancing and have taken lessons so I "enjoyed" DWTS until Tom DeLay and now Palin, ( she became known only because of mom Palin, a dunce, and being an unwed mom) who are not stars, were allowed on the show.

I would like to see it come down to having just the judges judge.

Newsflash crackers! I'm looking at you,Michael and All Liberals are Crazy Hot!) Liberals don't waste their time getting emotionally invested in stupid TV shows. Of course that whitetrash doofus will win a contest that asks whitetrash to vote.

She's like a pesky fly that won't go away! Where's the fly swatter!?

They don't need to send powder....they need to send KANYE WEST.

This hate is getting beyond ridiculous. We have comments about everything from overt racism to tea party conspiracies.
Let's look at the obvious first, Bristol getting votes does not signify racism. Kyle has been gathering many more votes than Bristol. Some may argue that Brandy was a better dancer than Kyle, but I do not hear the outrage that he was safe. No, Kyle was safe because people like him, just like people like Bristol. As the show host says "vote for your favorite" not for the best dancer (if this was purely a dancing competition then there would be only judges votes, and that is not how it is).
Brandy was not well liked. She had an attitude, argued with her partner, and lied how she wasn't responsible for that accident (evidence shows that she was not Criminally responsible, but was negligent and was in fact responsible for the accident). A tragedy for the other family and her, but it is what it is.
It was also in poor taste that the celebs got 10s from the celebs when they duplicated their dances, except Osborne could not do it for Bristol and had to show her prejudice by giving her a lower score. I am sure this got Bristol more sympathy votes than any tea party conspiracy (you can thank KO for getting Bristol into the finals).
Is it wrong for conservatives to vote for Bristol? How about older Jewish ladies voting for Jennifer, or black people voting for Kyle? No, you vote for whoever you want for whatever reason. It is a TV show, and helping your favorite win is empowering. The problems I hear mostly are from those who didn't even vote, yet complain about the outcome.
So now we go to the last week. Will the youth vote split and Jennifer wins? Will the white vote split and Kyle win? Will the liberals split and Bristol win? The judges will do their best to make it lopsided towards their favorite, but it is up to the public to vote for theirs.
Be sure to vote, and vote as often as the rules allow, and live with it. It is only a TV show.
