Stabbing at Arcadia mall may be gang-related

An 18-year-old man was stabbed Friday in a indoor courtyard at the crowded Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Center, Arcadia police said.

The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. and involved several young men; it was being investigated as possibly gang-related, said Sgt. Dan Crowther of the Arcadia Police Department.

One of the suspected attackers was in custody and police expect to make additional arrests, Crowther said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with an abdominal wound that did not appear to be life-threatening, the sergeant said.

The identities of the victim and the suspect were not released because the investigation is ongoing.

All these malls are full of lowlife Mexicans. What are we supposed to do?

Answer: Quit going to the dumpy malls. Go to downtown Pasadana.

And who said Arcadia was a great place to live? It's a well know fact around the city that the police censor the police blotter made known to it's citizens. I don't go to the mall, I like to go to small businesses myself. In Arcadia, it may not be Mexican gangs involved, more likely the little known or heard about Asian gangs.

Why does everything always have to be about the Mexicans? There are gangs of every race....Geez

STOP with the racism! Gangs come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and RACES!!! Tell me what does a MEXICAN look like??? Focus should be on educating parents how to be parents!!! And, empower youth to other options; instead, of gangsta stupidness!!!

If you want to live real long,
Don't go where the mexicans bang their gong
Don't go where they eat,
Don't go where they play,
Don't go where they dance and
and don't go where they bray
If you really want to live real long-
Don't go where the mexicans bang their gong!

Feliz Navidad!

Its true Dee the malls everywhere are full of mesicans as the parks are also. Racisim? no just a fact. Gangs come in black, white, asian, and mesican. But the article is about mesican gang related get over it. This state is crumbling due to illegal immigration and we have bleeding heart liberals to thank for it.

They brought the jail yard shiv into our shopping malls...Aren't illegals just wonderful...

I was at the mall when this occurred, neither men were mexican. Shame that you must immediately involve one's race.

As a resident of the San Gabriel Valley for nearly 30 years, I would say do your homework if you think "downtown" Pasadena is any better.

The Liberals are the reason for massive illegal immigration ??

I'd sy, unequivocally, it's caused by employers who hire them . No jobs-no illegal immigrants.

FYI - the article does NOT identify those involved as MEXICAN(S)! Therefore, don't assume gangsta hoodlums were Mexicans!!! Again, "What does a Mexican look like?" Wake up - there are no boundaries to gangsta stupidness!!! Therefore, education and empowerment are the only options to helping these people realize there's a better life that gang banging!

I know these men . They won't hurt someone unless that significant other has disrespected them or talked to them in a foul way. They are ALSO not MEXICANS. They're both Chinese. They're not low lives. It's not right to say an area is bad all because of several incidents. Every where/place can be a bad area because in every city , I believe , something bad can always happen.

the gang that the young asian men are in is called vietnamese boyz (VBZ)
