Man killed in home invasion robbery identified; one of two suspects taken into custody
Police have identified the man killed during an apparent home-invasion robbery in Downey on Wednesday and have taken into custody a man found at the scene with a gunshot wound. Authorities are also searching for a second suspect who was seen fleeing the home.
Officers responded to the home on the 9300 block of Gainford Street at about 2:50 a.m. early Wednesday on a call of a prowler on the scene and shots heard, said Lt. Phil Rigo, a spokesman for the Downey Police Department. When officers entered the home they found the owner, Hermilio Franco, 53, dead and another man suffering from a gunshot wound, Rigo said.
The wounded man was taken into custody and is at a hospital in serious condition, where he is expected to survive. A second suspect was seen leaving the home on foot, Rigo said. Police are treating the incident as a home invasion that was interrupted by the resident and have not released the name of the person in custody.

Guess the criminals didn't watch election returns. Everything will be ok now in California, thanks to popular Los Angles and San Fransisco vote.
