Driver critically wounded in Covina shooting

A 53-year-old Covina man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times early Monday on his way to work, authorities said.

Officers from the Covina Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the 1200 block of West San Bernardino Road and found the wounded man inside a black sport utility vehicle sitting against a curb.

The man was on his way to work when he was shot about 12:50 a.m., Sgt. Dave Foster said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police had no motive or suspects, Foster said.
