Jury deadlocks in hockey player rape case in Orange County

An Orange County juror deadlocked Friday in a rape case invovling a minor league hockey player.

David McKee, 26, of Texas was accused of raping a 29-year-old woman in July 2006 while she slept in a Newport Beach summer rental after she went out drinking with McKee and his friends. The men were all minor league hockey players in town for the Anaheim Ducks hockey camp.

The jurors deadlocked 11 to 1, with the majority voting not guilty. McKee was indicted last year by a grand jury that charged he raped an intoxicated and unconscious woman. The alleged victim apparently had been drinking before falling asleep, then woke up to find someone was having sex with her.

no crime

tough case! in a way she was drunk and how can she believed if she consented or not, most drunks dont remember what happened the night before. For example I know people who are so drunk that they forget where the live or where they parked, and then again if she really was raped then she should get justice but really hard to prove as she was drunk!
