Cold, high winds, some rain on tap for L.A. area; Thanksgiving should be clear

November 22, 2010 |  7:15 am

Cool weather with a chance of more rain is forecast for the L.A. area this week, but Thanksgiving Day should be clear.

The National Weather Service said the L.A. basin should see highs in the 60s on Monday, with lows in the 40s.

Some mountain and canyon areas will see wind gusts of up to 50 mph Monday night, forecasters said, and there is a possibility of freezing temperatures in some high-desert areas.

Some parts of the coast will see high surf, forecasters said.

Tuesday has a 40% chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to warm slightly on Thanksgiving Day.
