8-year-old girl claims lifeguard truck ran over her on beach

A claim was filed with the city of Huntington Beach this week on behalf of an 8-year-old girl who says she was hit by a lifeguard truck while she was lying on the beach this summer.

The claim seeks more than $10,000, charging that the city was negligent in the accident, which she said left her scratches and bruising on her face, headaches, pain in her left arm and neck, and loss of vision in her left eye.

According to the document, she was lying in the sand about 3:50 p.m. on June 13 when the front left tire of a lifeguard truck hit her while making a U-turn on the beach.

Not saying that this did not happen, but who sues for $10,000. Sounds like someone is just looking for money. A little girl with this much injury the medical bills would be in the hundreds of thousands.

@ Jeff, read again, the article states "more than" $10,000, not $10,000??? Just sayin'!
