3.8 earthquake hits south of Palm Springs

A magnitude 3.8  earthquake hit the Borrego Springs area on Thursday afternoon.

There were no reports of damage from the small quake, which struck 22 miles southeast of La Quinta and 31 miles south of Palm Springs.

It occurred at 4:56 p.m.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was felt across the Palm Springs area as well as parts of San Diego County.

Must be a very slow news day. Pathetic.

It's a Riverside precursor quake. Riverside will experience a quake of 7.2 to 7.6 within 2 weeks.

Hey "D", this is newsworthy if you are a Palm Springs resident. Nobody is forcing you to read every single piece of news the LA Times reports on. If you don't like it then don't read it Einstein.
