Search continues for suspects who kidnapped pharmaceutical delivery driver

October 7, 2010 | 10:17 am

Authorities are continuing to search for two armed suspects who impersonated police officers, kidnapped a pharmaceutical delivery driver and stole his inventory.

The delivery driver was later found unharmed about two miles away, said LAPD Sgt. Mitzi Grasso.

The incident occurred about 6:45 a.m. at the Rite-Aid pharmacy in the 13300 block of Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks, police said.

The driver was approached by two men wearing black sweat shirts with the word "police" on the back, police said, adding that one of the suspects grabbed the driver, forced him into his truck and drove off, while the other suspect drove a Honda.

Witness Donald West said he saw two men approach the delivery driver and tell him to put his hands up.

"They looked like police to me," West said. "They had police uniforms on. I thought the [victim] was doing something wrong."

West said he then turned away.

"It wasn’t any of my business," he said.
