Driver dies after crashing into a truck

October 30, 2010 |  5:43 pm

An unidentified driver was killed Saturday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into the back of a semi-trailer truck on Foothill Boulevard in Sylmar, fire officials said.

The 53-foot big rig may have been parked when it was struck about 4:37 p.m., and no one else was hurt in the crash, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. He did not know the driver's age, gender or residence.

Foothill Boulevard was closed between Bledsoe and Roxford streets while police investigated the crash.
