Another Camp Pendleton Marine killed in Afghanistan's Helmand province

A U.S. Marine from Camp Pendleton has been killed in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced Monday.

Cpl. Jorge Villarreal Jr. was killed by a roadside bomb Sunday while on foot patrol in Helmand province.

Villarreal, 22, a motor vehicle operator from San Antonio, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force from Camp Pendleton.

Villarreal enlisted in the Marine Corps in February 2007. He had deployed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Western Pacific in 2008.

Earlier Monday, the Pentagon announced another Camp Pendleton Marine had been killed in Helmand province.
