Youth dies, another wounded in Lynwood shooting
A 17-year-old boy was killed and another teenage boy was wounded Wednesday night when gunfire erupted on a Lynwood street, authorities said.
The youth was pronounced dead at the scene at East Imperial Highway near Hulme Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. The other teenager was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not known.
The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Investigators were at the scene gathering evidence. No additional details were available.
At least 26 homicides have been reported in Lynwood since January 2007, according to a database compiled by The Times' Homicide Report.
