'Octomom' Nadya Suleman holds yard sale

"Octomom" Nadya Suleman held a yard sale Saturday, hawking baby clothes, bikinis and other goods to make enough money to pay her mortgage.

Suleman gave birth to octuplets last year, and became an object of tabloid frenzy and populist rage when it was reported that she was a single mother on public assistance who already had six children.

The yard sale, which received television and tabloid coverage, was the latest in a series of efforts, which have included allowing cameras into her home, to support her children.

 The Orange County Register reported that Suleman charged bargain-hunters $10 for a picture with her, and $100 to pose with her and her octuplets. A Lakers jersey signed by Suleman fetched $125, and eight devil costumes worn by her children for Halloween brought in $50; a refrigerator that once stored baby formula sold for $85, the paper reported.

I do not feel sorry for a person that needed psychological help a long time ago...although a victim via the doctors that allowed this woman to have 8 more children, she is using the state resources for her own lack of judgment. Too many users on a system where people are taking advantage by being on the Welfare role.. spitting out more kids while they sit and some using the money for their drug habits, leaving the kids to fend for themselves.. Why would anybody want to Give Octomom money? She would use it to keep up her pretty and artistic manicures, her cosmetic surgery, her bovine looking false eyelashes, her gym membership, etc. She lies-she said that she didn't know that food stamps were a form of welfare? Come on Nadya. Time to tell the truth. She is clearly delusional. The children would be so much better off with somebody or just about anybody else.

people seem to be forgetting that there are innocent children involved. they didn't ask to be born into that situation or for the attention. i dont care fo the mother and her choice to have so many children. but I feel sorry for her children (or any child with irresponsible parents.) If decide not to donate, think about the children and how's they suffer if she lost her home. or if they were taken an put into foster care. not all foster parents out there would be better options.

In Florida Cuban refugees get more public assistance then an American Citizen . Fact: The state will pay for them to learn English but claims to have NO funds to send an American Citizen to a vocational training .
Not only does the state pay for them to learn English , they pay for childcare and they are not required to show a birth certificate at the welfare , all they have to do is sign an affidavit saying the their children are citizens.

No woman is more needy than an unemployed one with a few hungry mouths to feed, they should be first in line to receive the necessary help. Yesterday I heard a cat crying outside my door she was trailed by four hungry kittens, without hesitation I opened up a few cans of tuna. It is common decency to help a needy mother and her children.

Though it seems clear that she has "issues" and acted irresponsibly, the fact remains that her children should not be punished for what she has done. She is trying to take care of them and it will be a very long, hard road until they all turn 18. I can't stand her, but I have no reason to hate her children. They deserve to be loved and taken care of just like any other child. People should think of them and help her so that she can now care for them properly. What a mess!
