Motorcyclist killed in Orange County high-speed chase

A motorcyclist who led police on a high-speed chase starting in San Clemente was killed early Wednesday after he crashed on Interstate 5 in Laguna Hills.

Police attempted to pull the motorcyclist over about 12:20 a.m. near Avenida Vista Hermosa in San Clemente, possibly for speeding, said Denise Quesada, a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist sped away, leading police on a chase that reached speeds above 100 mph, Quesada said.

The chase ended about 20 minutes later just south of La Paz Road in Laguna Hills when the motorcycle clipped  another vehicle, spun out of control and ejected the driver onto the shoulder.

The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Quesada said.

How can you say that Vet1? Seriously, unless you have personal knowledge of this individual that you care to share with the rest of us?

He may simply be someone's stupid kid who made a bad decision. Doesn't mean he deserved to die, or that some divine intervention kicked in and took him out. Please. If that were the case - then the only people left on earth would be kindhearted and good. Obviously, this isn't the case.

Why is is that people claim God is responsible for the things they deem worthy. Like weeding out the bad seeds, or for helping their team to score a touchdown. Seems awfully selfish to me.

OK All-Hallows-Eve then it's Darwin at work. How's that. Stupid is as stupid does.

AHE..I believe that he was referring to the fact that the victim sadly brought his fate upon himself. Had he stopped, he would still be alive.

Well at least he doesn't have to pay the ticket.

I agree with you vet1 in spite of what all hallows eve said!! What if this guy just finished robbing a liquor store, what if he stole that motorcycle, what if he did some other crime that you do not know about? I am tired of the police catching these bad people & throwing them in jail for rehabilitation. i wish this would happen much more! There are too many people that get hurt or killed by some lowlifes actions. How many times do you see innocent children get hit by bullets in a drive by, or how many times have you seen an adult kill their children in a rage & then plead "not guilty" at their trial. I say, send them to the morgue, not to jail!

hey all-hallows-eve - if the police try to pull you over and you decide you're above the law and speed away, and then die because you can't handle your 600cc crotch rocket, then you do deserve to die. i don't need to know this person to make a judgement call. also, maybe you should stop thinking everyone's a little angel. there are bad people out there, most of us are actually. get a grip. maybe you should get a medical marijuana card for your crippling disease....being naive.

Finally a good ending to a police chase.

He may be someone's stupid kid who made a stupid decision...However, he placed many innocent lives in danger because of his motorcycle tirade....So, in this case, WE are all better off that he's dead....

Crazy driving is about 100 times more dangerous than taking a rifle and shooting at commercial aircraft near the airport....That wouldn't be tolerated either...

All these criminals 19 and under are someone's crazy kid...but every now and then there are some crazy consequences...

Remember, take the time to raise your children properly......It's the parent's fault....
