Man found dead in Irwindale storage facility

Sheriff’s deputies and Irwindale police discovered a dead man Friday afternoon at an Irwindale storage center in the 4300 block of Irwindale Avenue, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Detectives were still at the scene Friday evening. Authorities said the man's death, possibly caused by blunt-force trauma to the head, is thought to be related to a traffic incident earlier in the day.

According to authorities, an unidentified driver sought to leave the storage facility without a code to open the exit gate, then forced his way out. That same car was involved in a traffic accident nearby.

The victim's name was not released. No other details were immediately available.
