Lindsay Lohan says she's 'prepared to face the consequences' of failing 'my most recent drug test'

Lindsay Lohan's admission on her Twitter feed that she failed a drug test means another round of court hearings for the actress and a potential return to jail.

"Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result," she wrote.

She added a few minutes later: "This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."

Lohan spent part of the summer in an L.A. County jail in Lynwood after repeatedly violating the terms of her probation on a drunk-driving charge. She was released from a rehab center a few weeks ago.

Under the terms of her sentence, if she misses a test or gets a positive result, she would face 30 days in jail.

The sources, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the case is ongoing, said no official determination has been made that she did take illicit drugs. But they said prosecutors and court officials were preparing for more Lohan court hearings.

Lohan continues to undergo intense therapy and counseling since her release from a UCLA rehab facility. She is on supervised probation in connection with her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence. She must take random drug tests twice a week.

This woman is a complete loser. Get a clue - if you're taking drug tests twice a week they aren't exactly "random" enough to surprise you. What a train wreck.

Whoever decided she could be released early from rehab should be given a drug test.

I guess UCLA's rehab is about as effective as its defensive line. Or offense, or secondary, or special teams.

This is a shame because she is such a talented young actress. I hope she figures things out and gets her life back on track.

she is still in denial, and needs a year in live-in. You are not going to jail for failing a test, Ms. Lohan.
The test is not the problem, the results of the test are not the problem.
You are going back to jail because YOU used drugs. YOU are the cause of your future incarceration, not a test, not a result.
YOU.
This is not a semantic difference. It is the difference between people seeing their own actions as the cause of their situation, or referring it to outside indicators like the test results. Not everyone who uses drugs belongs in jail. But when you drive through Santa Monica high on drugs in a manner that almost kills yourself and three other people, you, freedom, and drugs don't mix.

Poor thing has not bottomed out yet. So Sad.

Like I said before, bad publicity is better than NO publicity.

I wish she could wake up and see that she is simply screaming out for attention, and she needs to get a grasp on that self loathing - it will eventually take her out.

This poor girl doesn't need more jail time -- she needs a SERIOUS and long-lasting rehab that separates her from alcohol/drugs for months instead of just days.

I hope this child can get it together... It seems as though she is following in the footsteps of Robert Downey Jr. to State prison. I was glad to see he turned his life around... I feel less optimistic about LL, Robert has great talent as an actor and is an acting powerhouse... always has been, always will be. Lindsey, not so much (talent). Lindsey, Good luck with all of that, you have a lot of work to do and you are running out of options, your story/behavior/excuses/admissions are falling on deaf ears... and you don't want to be "THAT" once was girl... Really!

Meanwhile, over in Afghanistan. Let's take a look at some of her same-age cohorts and their families' back home. Why don't these wayward children do something more useful with their time and money? Like help the families of those serving overseas, whose lives and options are so so different. Or maybe spend an hour or two helping a veteran get back on his or her feet.

I wonder how her treatment compares with others with multiple probation violations.

The news in this is not that Lindsey failed another drug test, but rather that she seems to be treated differently than other citizens.

what did you expect? she left her jail sentence early, she left her rehab early, seriously the woman needs help and all this preferential treatment is just aiding in her demise.

Punishment in prison will not help her, I don't wish to judge or really say
anything about her only that her medical condition requires stringent control
measures outside of California with longer rehabilitation up to year.
Including limited family influence from all.
Sadly even IF she had this, nothing works until she finds her bottom, I trust
It's not six feet under. Lawyers and alike putting out safety nets over and over
Are doing this young lady a great disservice.

Karl from Chicago says "she's such a talented young actress"

Well take her talents were they are most useful...go work at WalMart so we never have to hear about her

Has Dina jumped up and defended her yet?

The government and her handlers are enabling this woman to death. When she's found dead in some gutter or alley we'll know who's responsible.

Whatever judicial authority is in charge here is guilty of gross negligence in enabling Ms. Lohan to pursue the inevitable reality of her own demise, in record time. She is a sick woman who needs a year or two in a live-in medical facility that can EFFECTIVELY rehabilitate her. Freedom, drinking and sniffing cocaine with her friends is hardly the Rx for her problems.

It seems plain now that she is not "stupid" or "reckless", she is a simple drug addict, just like tens of thousands of other Angelenos. No one fails a drug test that quickly without a serious dependency problem and she is NOT unique in that regard, in "Hollywood" or anywhere in America.

The question is whether her fame and resources will help or hinder her recovery.

The only interesting reminder in this very common story is America's dual system of justice.

stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid etc. The worst part? Stupid with money.

Crazy. On her part. She could have got around this either by taking a hire car home when she was wasted or doing drugs at home, a friend's house or in a hotel room. Since she isn't really prepared to quit then I can't see why she didn't just get by drinking lots of coffee and energy drinks up until November 1, when her probation expires, I think.

Another two-week prison stint won't help her, either. Nor will rehab unless she commits to it on her end, which she doesn't seem to have yet.

Still, I wish her well and think she needs psychiatric intervention more than further punishment of her drug use.

Miss Lohan, Doesn't accountability suck?

She should be punished by being sent back to prison for the full 30 days. I don't care about rehabilitating her, she's beyond repair.
