Dangerous sex offender who absconded from parole is arrested near skid row

A paroled sex offender who tore off his GPS ankle monitor and was wanted by U.S. Marshals was arrested near skid row this week after an L.A. County sheriff’s security officer recognized the fugitive.

Michael Shaun Butler, a convicted high-risk sex offender who absconded from California state parole in May 2009, was captured after the security officer recognized him from a wanted poster.

Butler was walking through the metal detector about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services in 800 block of East Fourth Street.

The officer alerted nearby deputies who grabbed Butler as he attempted to run out the door. Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker said Butler had absconded from parole by removing his global positioning system ankle monitor and began living on the streets without parole supervision.

According to investigators, Butler is a career criminal whose previous charges include lewd and lascivious acts with a child, sodomy, rape by force, numerous drug possession charges, firearms and other weapons charges, prostitution charges and numerous parole violations.

Butler in 1995 was arrested and later convicted for drugging and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old. Deputy U.S. Marshals had already pinpointed Butler as having been seen within three miles of skid row.

Butler is being held without bail in the Los Angeles County jail on a parole hold as well as $1.18-million bail for failure to register as a sex offender.

Why was this guy on parole? Just like the scum that killed Lily Burk.

These charges are most likely bogus. I know that over the years judges and prosecuting attorneys were in a habit of forcing sodomy charges on plea bargaining defendants to further their push for more laws so they could get grants to continue to build their empire of sex related laws that have done nothing but built the foundation for a network of terror against people and start the movement that mirrors the Nazis terror activities that brought us the groups that millage around behind the hoards of members on web based social network sites like My Space/Facebook using people fired up over sex to the point that we no have a structure that is illegal and remembering that cable companies like CNN and their direct involvement with the FCC and other countries use of terror to start movements in other lands like Germany's WW2 we know that Nazis thought socialism should control not only economics but breeding, religion & other intimate details of life, we have the same thing in it's infancy here today.

Leave him locked up this time!

monster, throw away the key

See the Sheriffs taking over the County Safety Police already paid off. Had that been the Safety police, no officer would of been in the area to arrest him. If there was one, they would of called LASD or LAPD.

Well worth the take over

I don't know if this qualifies as a 3rd strike, but it should. If nothing else, laws are in place to keep dangerous persons like this incarcerated indefinitely.

Someone has been drinking the purple kool-aid...
