20-acre brush fire burning near Interstate 5 north of Castaic

Fire
Firefighters are working to put out a brush fire that started Thursday morning at Interstate 5 and Templin Highway, authorities said.

About 200 firefighters are on the scene of the 20-acre blaze that started around 5 a.m., said Inspector Matt Levesque of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire appears to have started when a driver pulled over to the side of the road because of engine trouble, Levesque said.

He said the fire is expected to be be extinguished before 8 a.m.
